Rainy days can either be cozy or kind of dull and dreary. Here's a couple things I've done while stuck inside.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3M9fDFQOUzlz6EcM5DYL3SeNXAEtZfFsM1AB_523BMmWgpCexUga7-qRJLUTWpO8oht9hiHPpYpLQn1qPJGYO7uejNGQYon9gd3fXshe-WowfgiypGJDB_62vWPaXzHbC16vwJFxy16lX/s640/blogger-image--909060201.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3M9fDFQOUzlz6EcM5DYL3SeNXAEtZfFsM1AB_523BMmWgpCexUga7-qRJLUTWpO8oht9hiHPpYpLQn1qPJGYO7uejNGQYon9gd3fXshe-WowfgiypGJDB_62vWPaXzHbC16vwJFxy16lX/s640/blogger-image--909060201.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
First off, I made red velvet cake bon bons. </div>
<div>
They are so tasty and very easy to make. (And great with your cozy coffee!)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step one: Bake a red velvet cake. </div>
<div>
You can do this from scratch, but I just used a box mix. Let the cake cool. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step two: Crumble up that cake and mix in some cream cheese icing until it gets to a good consistency for forming bon bons. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step three: Roll little balls with the cake/icing mixture and place on a cookie sheet. Refrigerate until firm. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step four: Melt some semi sweet chocolate chips in the microwave and spoon some chocolate on top of your bon bons. Refrigerate again. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step five: Enjoy your delicious treat with a cup of coffee and a good book. </div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
~~~~~~</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Recently, AC Moore had a sale on Lion Brand Landscapes yarn. I have marveled at this yarn every time I go into a craft store, but it was just too pricey for me. This yarn is so soft and shiny and comes in gorgeous vivid colors. I bought an armful of "Boardwalk" and decided to make a giant rainbow shawl. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifD-pqYmipZhYwwWLBkzYUAr78YgDfr-OLQrZ1Lj0UWbO3xKzUfNgc2nfccNLrfxP4DQrqEyV1uSbpO8-OlC-xucF7RHH5sBDt6wxFpKL7gWKWO-qn8pTkSqnSdbFqfgTCUZuR5HqLoAVG/s640/blogger-image-279405439.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifD-pqYmipZhYwwWLBkzYUAr78YgDfr-OLQrZ1Lj0UWbO3xKzUfNgc2nfccNLrfxP4DQrqEyV1uSbpO8-OlC-xucF7RHH5sBDt6wxFpKL7gWKWO-qn8pTkSqnSdbFqfgTCUZuR5HqLoAVG/s640/blogger-image-279405439.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I love granny squares, so I'm making a half square for the shawl pattern. It's so much fun to watch the colors change and it works up pretty quickly. (If only the temperature outside would change faster as well!) </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here's the pattern for the half granny square from: <a href="http://rensfibreart.wordpress.com/">rensfibreart.wordpress.com</a></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9kE4HaB0jFCrOMj_B4UOgNTdrcFGZ0Dzp_bFRCNRCMCqnVyTrzVRl23kZqGmmwZHymDJYkhSC_MaU18lFZ4WM0UM6S2PXQpK-tbB2lB873Uk3hzHoIswyGzV0j_-H__SUgocx6VnbOuUz/s640/blogger-image--1868961321.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9kE4HaB0jFCrOMj_B4UOgNTdrcFGZ0Dzp_bFRCNRCMCqnVyTrzVRl23kZqGmmwZHymDJYkhSC_MaU18lFZ4WM0UM6S2PXQpK-tbB2lB873Uk3hzHoIswyGzV0j_-H__SUgocx6VnbOuUz/s640/blogger-image--1868961321.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's so easy once you get going. And using a colorful yarn is sure to brighten up anyone's rainy day!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
That's all for now, thanks for stopping by! </div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeiT94JC7OKA7CJP0VqL-_5xZvieLU3K-udA1tEEHqHyc8em6pqk0dCrkIfhwRWPfQnYOkmSkh_yelPZ7imPZEBDKJn3xIN5UQ4-crTcPXZ02-HDu8w3IGDFhT6Sf3eUYoGkU4Oa_QpUIb/s1600/Farmer%2527s.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="530" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeiT94JC7OKA7CJP0VqL-_5xZvieLU3K-udA1tEEHqHyc8em6pqk0dCrkIfhwRWPfQnYOkmSkh_yelPZ7imPZEBDKJn3xIN5UQ4-crTcPXZ02-HDu8w3IGDFhT6Sf3eUYoGkU4Oa_QpUIb/s640/Farmer%2527s.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Feel like you grew up on a farm with five ingredients! This cheese is so easy to make, you won't believe it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All you need is:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>A gallon of whole milk</li>
<li>The juice from at least one lemon</li>
<li>Sea salt</li>
<li>Rosemary</li>
<li>A cheesecloth</li>
</ul>
First bring your milk to a boil in a large pot, adding rosemary and salt to taste.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGs1oAldEcwIjw4mlimIBXuEfXOcbIGlDsL7HguBmoqOFWMDvKmYRKWrgZL4NzyqzoKo0__hkYR3Oa2C1RttHcIDu95ZRCggrLEnUUjqJQJy37JLqZ5__yuSkx_lBRTpOpEjau-K_T8RyX/s1600/DSC_0664.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGs1oAldEcwIjw4mlimIBXuEfXOcbIGlDsL7HguBmoqOFWMDvKmYRKWrgZL4NzyqzoKo0__hkYR3Oa2C1RttHcIDu95ZRCggrLEnUUjqJQJy37JLqZ5__yuSkx_lBRTpOpEjau-K_T8RyX/s640/DSC_0664.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
While you wait for the milk to boil, squeeze your lemons. I might not have needed this much lemon juice, but I wanted to make sure it curdled enough.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGxoDqVFbN0rkeFOGFMgVEdy9w0spAACt7TfN3GYRNHJVwRP4CU8NQwYwUy6kkZewMEFeqef_AGo24bkmJzSg65WCdm-9qeQc2EnX9U-VU58XB7c4ymqe_SAToOn5LU618PXWqUgR-_U3a/s1600/DSC_0662.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGxoDqVFbN0rkeFOGFMgVEdy9w0spAACt7TfN3GYRNHJVwRP4CU8NQwYwUy6kkZewMEFeqef_AGo24bkmJzSg65WCdm-9qeQc2EnX9U-VU58XB7c4ymqe_SAToOn5LU618PXWqUgR-_U3a/s640/DSC_0662.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
After the milk is heated, stir in the lemon juice. The milk should start to curdle and separate. The curdles are the cheese, and the leftover liquid is the whey.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1wlaAd70vqSXtsSkgMdwwafe2Y3YOLtymTHeozEq-IqaqTjZjbqJ6ET2cEqORmlYMx7a0rHgWkHLdJ-HbnEAI6DFi97vG-uzuLJA1qNMHsTIUREtrSNnFVlqF9bUIhNcipsHOmPqfBL-u/s1600/DSC_0669.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1wlaAd70vqSXtsSkgMdwwafe2Y3YOLtymTHeozEq-IqaqTjZjbqJ6ET2cEqORmlYMx7a0rHgWkHLdJ-HbnEAI6DFi97vG-uzuLJA1qNMHsTIUREtrSNnFVlqF9bUIhNcipsHOmPqfBL-u/s640/DSC_0669.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Pour into a strainer, lined with cheesecloth. You can tie the cloth to a spoon and suspend it over a bowl to drain out all of the liquid.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIvKgx6G6kJiM24PeeEwXDbhwPZCmleDevoUiMxRaDnNahyjYhNS7ttE96UJmN3ICQjchchZO5R9Ik0UfkEglJw-2cePB5Jo7fDu7fmIdDgIT1FAynUcXn3ZbPfz0qFzCh8HTtQu3ViYfS/s1600/DSC_0676.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIvKgx6G6kJiM24PeeEwXDbhwPZCmleDevoUiMxRaDnNahyjYhNS7ttE96UJmN3ICQjchchZO5R9Ik0UfkEglJw-2cePB5Jo7fDu7fmIdDgIT1FAynUcXn3ZbPfz0qFzCh8HTtQu3ViYfS/s640/DSC_0676.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
After you strain as much whey out as possible, put the cheese in plastic wrap and squeeze into a round shape.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVvRPtxXMnNV-JcwLEYXkzEYy-uu_cfrNiELlO7WEu0WELzVoZ1eFv2POFt1rrICyrIX3LGSB2TZ_QVbqxwko9vf8FyYk53JJcYej7CaTAfRQumkoKTtXD_AkOv4_jJYQxdITSSAc56RCe/s1600/DSC_0678.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVvRPtxXMnNV-JcwLEYXkzEYy-uu_cfrNiELlO7WEu0WELzVoZ1eFv2POFt1rrICyrIX3LGSB2TZ_QVbqxwko9vf8FyYk53JJcYej7CaTAfRQumkoKTtXD_AkOv4_jJYQxdITSSAc56RCe/s640/DSC_0678.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The cheese itself has a light flavor and a soft texture. You could use other herbs and flavorings to mix it up a bit. You could probably use other milks as well, but I'm not sure.<br />
We also made homemade butter. If you've never made butter, you have to try it, Especially with children.<br />
All you do is put heavy whipping cream in a jar with a pinch of salt. And then shake shake shake shake shake! The butter separates from the buttermilk, and voila! Homemade butter!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicSFkTS5smH92WGa6f5Fo79sLOqFDL1YSRXypnbjKj0H_fP6AFVbAoRO05MTV0TmYpg01NWGcRHIwQ651PQF28eylnqYFlhxLZm8-24m5VfordLu8DYxOp9u2GRxOERqRymbQ2q8emJkh_/s1600/DSC_0665.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicSFkTS5smH92WGa6f5Fo79sLOqFDL1YSRXypnbjKj0H_fP6AFVbAoRO05MTV0TmYpg01NWGcRHIwQ651PQF28eylnqYFlhxLZm8-24m5VfordLu8DYxOp9u2GRxOERqRymbQ2q8emJkh_/s640/DSC_0665.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This stuff is addicting! We put some on saltine crackers and it was gone before we knew it!<br />
<br />
The other day my fiancee and I took a trip to our local botanical gardens where you could pick your own fresh blackberries right off the bush. It was so hot out, but we had a blast picking the perfect blackberries and dropping them into our buckets (and occasionally our mouths!)<br />
When we were done, we had to figure out what to do with all our berries. (We picked A LOT.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, we hopped on Pinterest and found a recipe for <a href="http://www.mennonitegirlscancook.ca/2012/08/blackberry-syrup.html" target="_blank">Blackberry Syrup</a> except that we didn't strain the fruit out, so it was more like a compote. </div>
It also made a lot of syrup! Luckily we put them in jars to last longer and have a lot of family to give them to!<br />We then made Pioneer Woman's <a href="http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2015/06/crunchy-french-toast/" target="_blank">Crunchy French Toast</a> to put the syrup on.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
For this project you will need:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>A canvas at least big enough for two handprints. I have 12"x12".</li>
<li>Acrylic paint in pink, orange, lighter blue, darker blue, white, and black.</li>
<li>Pink glitter.</li>
<li>Paint brushes and/or sponges.</li>
</ul>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8mMRDitqw5rEK3IL4Ma_hFyGpx7MyP2-C0fu_3hXLo8zQJs6CgL2n0HZFcORKB9XCDQifcL_X8IqKuckuYyjro2YnyYF7uI2HSNQ2gICL4TxH1AE6Yn1olrlRzqWsnUBwOd61xaoQ-lv_/s1600/e1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8mMRDitqw5rEK3IL4Ma_hFyGpx7MyP2-C0fu_3hXLo8zQJs6CgL2n0HZFcORKB9XCDQifcL_X8IqKuckuYyjro2YnyYF7uI2HSNQ2gICL4TxH1AE6Yn1olrlRzqWsnUBwOd61xaoQ-lv_/s640/e1.JPG" width="424" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
First, paint the background. For mine I used the brush to make jagged stripes in alternating blues. While still wet, I blended the stripes together even further do create varied shades of blue.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZNvGPP-SQ1d_50eM-iYFia-WUqeXokKGAdM3E27kagptCfsYhd5mR_InQictF0PiyFKSx2trfNH5bB8Ijb2xdMtgQytohzD7zbbk4A8lFIuEXFeaU9w1PlxSjth4cgq7KxxToVCSYmXtS/s1600/e2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZNvGPP-SQ1d_50eM-iYFia-WUqeXokKGAdM3E27kagptCfsYhd5mR_InQictF0PiyFKSx2trfNH5bB8Ijb2xdMtgQytohzD7zbbk4A8lFIuEXFeaU9w1PlxSjth4cgq7KxxToVCSYmXtS/s640/e2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
When the background is dry, use the pink paint to make two upside down sideways hand-prints like so. (Mine is the one on the left!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I got excited about painting and forgot to take a photo of just the prints, But here you can see the positioning.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Then add the flamingos' necks and wings. If you want to add glitter (and who doesn't?!) put a generous amount of paint and sprinkle the glitter directly on the paint. Add more than enough. You can shake off the excess when it's dry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtCTnnQ-xbJLp_iI0atYOxG2aOFVxVCkMXRp2Fv91VSVLU1uf9T2WfsKk8f5DeDsnx7jbV2ZWLWklM1CL4vXeDGKhk4ccAChewp8DEnX-piL0dGhY_vRNsdtbQiyxB-CbphABlmoXT29CA/s1600/e3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtCTnnQ-xbJLp_iI0atYOxG2aOFVxVCkMXRp2Fv91VSVLU1uf9T2WfsKk8f5DeDsnx7jbV2ZWLWklM1CL4vXeDGKhk4ccAChewp8DEnX-piL0dGhY_vRNsdtbQiyxB-CbphABlmoXT29CA/s640/e3.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Now add the eyes, beaks, and legs with the black, white, and orange paint. I added a little heart because I'm sappy like that. (The other hand is my fiancee!) </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJZheBpACt7LDuZR6_Nki4ZimzPRZiwLyxiadH408A8xUeSP_-9IDIMfU37ptjCZ6RS4hcDtH71PsV3wxyphB1a3tDHz7ZtEFjpIjEg6xkpfoMgwhwMjL0nWxCh3YXNUn3JkW4XNmt37cT/s1600/e5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJZheBpACt7LDuZR6_Nki4ZimzPRZiwLyxiadH408A8xUeSP_-9IDIMfU37ptjCZ6RS4hcDtH71PsV3wxyphB1a3tDHz7ZtEFjpIjEg6xkpfoMgwhwMjL0nWxCh3YXNUn3JkW4XNmt37cT/s640/e5.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
Just let it dry and shake off the extra glitter, and voila! Custom Flamingo Wall Art! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;">For this Polyvore Inspired DIY, we will be making beaded hemp bracelets. You can use your clipboard from the last DIY or use some tape to secure your hemp cords. </span></small></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;">These bracelets look great alone or multiple stacked!</span></small></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;"><br /></span></small></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><small></small></span></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">For these bracelets you will want to use hemp or a stiffer cord. Hemp works really well because it holds it's shape really well and works well for these knots. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;">You will need to cut a piece about a foot long and a second piece about two yards long. </span></small></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;">There are two steps you need to remember. The "4" and the "P." Okay, these aren't technical names, but it will help you remember. Trust me. (I will include color coded photos at the end of the post if it helps clarify which strings are which.)</span></small></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;"><br /></span></small></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;">Let's start with the "4."</span></small></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;"><br /></span></small></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;">Take the left string and fold it over the middle string to make a "4."</span></small></div>
<span style="font-size: small;"><small></small><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;">The right string comes over the tail of the left, under the middle string, and through the hole in the "4."</span></small></div>
<small><span style="font-size: small;">
</span></small></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><small></small></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<small><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQk8P6cCNq4rMih0JXDVT5L5gZP14E1L-_aWtA5ZUJsaarAWzXFBjLP9uAKHRIT9p3qgGjQKGYH5Kkt9uTic4L4bGcW4P8aiRhUB9KhfJJODXaNh_TkGxHae1setEH5WHyaPNbi16p603A/s640/blogger-image-1414649737.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQk8P6cCNq4rMih0JXDVT5L5gZP14E1L-_aWtA5ZUJsaarAWzXFBjLP9uAKHRIT9p3qgGjQKGYH5Kkt9uTic4L4bGcW4P8aiRhUB9KhfJJODXaNh_TkGxHae1setEH5WHyaPNbi16p603A/s640/blogger-image-1414649737.jpg" /></span></a></small></div>
<span style="font-size: small;"><small></small><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<small><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;">Pull both right and left strings taught while pulling the knot to the top. </span></small></div>
<small><span style="font-size: small;">
</span></small></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">If you keep repeating the "4" step, you will end up with the Spiral Knot. </span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">To make the Square Knot, you will need to alternate between the "4" and the "P."</span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">For the "P" you do the same steps, but starting with the right string. Fold your right string over the middle to make a "P."</span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">You could leave it like this, but I prefer to braid the end. I think it looks a bit more professional. :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Braid the tails and knot at the end, and you are done!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">There are hundreds of variations you can make by changing up the combos of knots and beads. They even make colored hemp! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I hope this was easy to understand and if you make some hemp bracelets yourself, put a link in the comments. I would love to see!</span></div>
Hello followers! I am currently typing to you from the mountains of South Carolina. I also am typing this on my phone, so hopefully the post is easy to read on a computer... (If not, I'll be sure to fix it when I get back to my laptop!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Yesterday I got to take advantage of a little retail therapy in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. I thought I might show y'all what I got!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGH9JrBFCT9UoVKWtS9xnY5i_bL4IBQUMlxi4uPIUoWfYK5IJtmeBHF9BTc-JJ9gE5riR6fpQ56UyrRbp9P7_d89-2x_aykJJSVYbxg2TR1VQbERVziLStZLcRSyhb05wQfTdM9dEEru_e/s640/blogger-image--587907556.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGH9JrBFCT9UoVKWtS9xnY5i_bL4IBQUMlxi4uPIUoWfYK5IJtmeBHF9BTc-JJ9gE5riR6fpQ56UyrRbp9P7_d89-2x_aykJJSVYbxg2TR1VQbERVziLStZLcRSyhb05wQfTdM9dEEru_e/s640/blogger-image--587907556.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
First off I want to let you know that I am a real foodie. If I'm out if town, it's guaranteed that I'll buy food at some point. So, I just had to stop in Greenville Jerky & Vine, a specialty shop for all kinds of jerky and wine. They had so many flavors and meats to choose from, along with wine and various local foods. I love curry, so I went with Lawless Jerky's Japanese Curry beef jerky. And man, is it good. I will have to ration this bag for sure. (<a href="http://jerkyandvine.com/">JerkyandVine.com</a>)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU3ufFbaWOghSyAufHEPUDRaXgUkID0nYSFAzlmNVTwWN6b9Dtn3J9LGQ5gJ2-jF5USKGtcu-0-Ikw64rCoREjW5aYLwr-yOucDHXAZ7zDP88qpibcumX9Kl3EDuOkpE5oPNRVoeu1r0D5/s640/blogger-image-57265375.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU3ufFbaWOghSyAufHEPUDRaXgUkID0nYSFAzlmNVTwWN6b9Dtn3J9LGQ5gJ2-jF5USKGtcu-0-Ikw64rCoREjW5aYLwr-yOucDHXAZ7zDP88qpibcumX9Kl3EDuOkpE5oPNRVoeu1r0D5/s640/blogger-image-57265375.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Next is Poppington's Gourmet Popcorn. Look how cute it is! Paired with the scents that were coming out of their shop, how could I resist? These little sample baggies were only a dollar, and great for tasting all the flavors or bringing home to your friends from your trip. They make the popcorn right in the shop, and it's a feast for the eyes as well as your mouth. (<a href="http://poppingtons.com/">Poppingtons.com</a>)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The last food item I bought was loose leaf tea from The Spice & Tea Exchange. We have one of these shops in my hometown, but I can't help but stop in. I love loose tea and spices and salts in jars. I also bought a tea strainer so I could have some tea during my trip. I purchased Rose Mint, Pear Caramel, and Ginger Turmeric. They are white/green, black, and herbal teas and they smell amazing. I can't wait to taste them. (<a href="http://spiceandtea.com/">spiceandtea.com</a>)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Lastly, I bought these leather rings from Ten Thousand Villages. They are a unique shop that sells handmade items from around the world. Most items have a tag that say where they were made. I went for these lovely leather rings. They are made of a thin, rigid leather and decorated with bright patterns. I bought an extra one for a friend of mine who has a metal allergy. They are super cute and go with the whole bohemian look that is in right now. (<a href="http://tenthousandvillages.com/">tenthousandvillages.com</a>) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
And that's everything I got from lovely Greenville, South Carolina! Thanks for reading!</div>
I took my fiancee for her birthday and it was so much fun. We have done one other run like this before, but this year was the Shine Tour, which featured glitter at the end. While the fiancee and I are trying to get more fit and healthy, we are not runners. Luckily walking, (as well as dancing) was allowed. The whole thing was great fun and I would recommend participating if they ever come to a town near you. :)<br />
I took a lot of photos, so get ready for some spam!<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hi there! I want to introduce another new post category, Polyvore Inspired DIYs! Today's DIY is a personalized clipboard that we will use later on as a securing board for friendship bracelets. Alternately, you could use a safety pin or tape to hold down the bracelet as you are working on it, but I found that a clipboard is handy because it keeps it secure, and you can use it on the go.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Let's get started!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ_1RJbNL6O85xx7rHvqW4XcKX6uH9f2JNxZSwKMU9z3QXMN5ZcQFsysQPabWpNFLt2oWMiKvyot20XqgPQ42RzKNCkh-Fnrnt6GYPisNexXTJeop2leUPrnI8Hzo-ykszcM6e40jwdbm-/s1600/starting+from+$1.99.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ_1RJbNL6O85xx7rHvqW4XcKX6uH9f2JNxZSwKMU9z3QXMN5ZcQFsysQPabWpNFLt2oWMiKvyot20XqgPQ42RzKNCkh-Fnrnt6GYPisNexXTJeop2leUPrnI8Hzo-ykszcM6e40jwdbm-/s640/starting+from+$1.99.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<a data-pin-color="red" data-pin-config="none" data-pin-do="buttonPin" data-pin-height="28" href="https://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fglitteredwhimsy.blogspot.com%2F2015%2F05%2Fpolyvore-inspired-diy-personalized.html&media=http%3A%2F%2F2.bp.blogspot.com%2F-lfdezk0XLgA%2FVVNfMR5kb1I%2FAAAAAAAAAE0%2FjUpAj5SdTIk%2Fs640%2Fstarting%2Bfrom%2B%241.99.png&description=DIY%20Personalized%20Clipboard%20for%20Bracelet%20Making" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/pidgets/pinit_fg_en_rect_red_28.png" /></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Alright, first you need a clipboard. I have a mini clipboard from Office Depot. They are usually inexpensive and you can buy them most anywhere. You want to make sure the clip at the top goes straight across and is tight enough to hold a small amount of string. They make ones that have a bent metal wire instead of the large metal clip, but you want to get the one that has the most contact with the board, so your string doesn't slide out of place. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHa-KIY6Jl5lMMufziBNOGd7eKHGuliqiLK98pJOOZRtwcud3_s5R2znq4gtyFRaOzF7nK5wqa4REFdQbIZbtImCMkWGVQP4fi1VQHsHTuPOp5utXbbyo_rpP_3rP3drnPK5fqDL8a-P8c/s1600/DSC_0475.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHa-KIY6Jl5lMMufziBNOGd7eKHGuliqiLK98pJOOZRtwcud3_s5R2znq4gtyFRaOzF7nK5wqa4REFdQbIZbtImCMkWGVQP4fi1VQHsHTuPOp5utXbbyo_rpP_3rP3drnPK5fqDL8a-P8c/s640/DSC_0475.JPG" width="425" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next, you want to gather your decorating materials. You can use washi tape, duct tape, stickers, paint, nail polish, mod podge, and whatever else you can think of, as long as it stays on the board and doesn't rub off after use. I probably wouldn't recommend pencils or crayons, because they tend to rub off and you don't want to stain your bracelets.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm going to be using mini duct tape in a rainbow tie dye pattern, some Lisa Frank animal stickers and a few stickers of some favorite characters.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVP7xhq2n3ZTmHddj2oPtrvYibR0lNUPvNC67V18P8Zd4yM_xObHmPJSM0EQiQ1U0JA3aEtZz71shvo8IrwZRGU8WoGs0ET6hv8-QNRJ6VE6m8PegjkMmgDmD7aap3gRFmAROyJwefMoiT/s1600/DSC_0477.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVP7xhq2n3ZTmHddj2oPtrvYibR0lNUPvNC67V18P8Zd4yM_xObHmPJSM0EQiQ1U0JA3aEtZz71shvo8IrwZRGU8WoGs0ET6hv8-QNRJ6VE6m8PegjkMmgDmD7aap3gRFmAROyJwefMoiT/s640/DSC_0477.JPG" width="425" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First I'm going to add my tape in a diagonal pattern to block off where I want my stickers. Make sure to smooth it out all the way.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEghroclDlxtpXnGKBh9kcO_Yrj52QLpgYl9xNNmDEi9OdJhVF9BFrrnOu-P8OyOiBFhjJul6GZ8czQdw4zg8AHmcg-DZiB2nRqeUVXkpbCy7T5dxZdx7zuqS53hI9gL0NOn_gcBoXTEA0/s1600/DSC_0478.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEghroclDlxtpXnGKBh9kcO_Yrj52QLpgYl9xNNmDEi9OdJhVF9BFrrnOu-P8OyOiBFhjJul6GZ8czQdw4zg8AHmcg-DZiB2nRqeUVXkpbCy7T5dxZdx7zuqS53hI9gL0NOn_gcBoXTEA0/s640/DSC_0478.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is very cute on it's own and you could leave it at that, but to go with my 90's themed Polyvore set, I just HAVE to throw some Lisa Frank on there!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdVlqYojJVljsWk-wqQBE-z9_DNzOJ1Hf-5nPuS3LGpcWNvJIUJqz967LRJPAKfowmFt-Oyaf8sf-j3kg5QZm76fL_kbI7GAWN_XsjTgjS8fbkcpFEGjrsONjDPd7dOssWG1CNEfkQVWyH/s1600/DSC_0482.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdVlqYojJVljsWk-wqQBE-z9_DNzOJ1Hf-5nPuS3LGpcWNvJIUJqz967LRJPAKfowmFt-Oyaf8sf-j3kg5QZm76fL_kbI7GAWN_XsjTgjS8fbkcpFEGjrsONjDPd7dOssWG1CNEfkQVWyH/s640/DSC_0482.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Look at those rainbow penguins. Beautiful. Now I have some extra room on there... Might as well fill it with some of my favorite characters that I just so happen to have stickers of.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOGnqzfXVB5goW4_sNOjLzsjm2jicFyU0Ldhr8sR0xQ2L3hJiNUWhvInntcHTQW7MgCzPWLmL67w3quZd2YbdskUCaDKsOM86ntELBAw5jGuA0kZF6DpSD-jgKahcnFhTCKceFj4lZe6j4/s1600/DSC_0486.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOGnqzfXVB5goW4_sNOjLzsjm2jicFyU0Ldhr8sR0xQ2L3hJiNUWhvInntcHTQW7MgCzPWLmL67w3quZd2YbdskUCaDKsOM86ntELBAw5jGuA0kZF6DpSD-jgKahcnFhTCKceFj4lZe6j4/s640/DSC_0486.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Perfect! Now my board is complete. And I think it would go great with my outfit up there!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know this DIY was super simple and you probably didn't need instructions on how to decorate a clipboard, but having a board like this makes making bracelets so much easier. And besides, now we are ready to go and make millions of friendship bracelets with our new personalized board! </div>
Decorative mini notebooks. I love notebooks and I love mini things. And paired with the fact that they were two for a dollar, I couldn't pass them up! They are great for jotting down notes or making lists and they fit into any bag or a back pocket. You can find them at office supply stores and Target for pretty cheap. I love the cardboard and metallic look of these notebooks from Staples, but there are tons of styles out there to fit your personality. </div>
Film photography. For the past two semesters, I've been in a darkroom photography class. I've absolutely fallen in love with film and darkroom processing. With film, you have to focus and put effort into every shot because you are limited to how many exposures you have. The quality of the photo seems richer to me somehow. Even though I won't have access to the darkroom to print until I take another class, I'm planning on still shooting with film and scanning them in digitally. </div>
Amber Vanilla scented oil and salt rock infuser. I bought this oil infuser lamp from Earthbound Trading a while back. It's made from pink salt and warms up a little glass dish that you put scented oils in. My favorite oil at the moment is Amber Vanilla from Walmart. It has a warm aroma with hints of vanilla and plenty of spice. It makes the room smell cozy and inviting without being too overpowering.</div>
So those are a few things I love at the moment! I hope you enjoyed this post and there will be more like this in the future.</div>
Tomorrow is Mother's Day!<br />
If you haven't figured out what to get Mom yet, (and you're running out of time) how about giving her something hand made. Here are four tutorials for making your mom a bouquet that will never die. These tutorials vary in difficulty, but shouldn't be too hard to whip together by Mother's Day and made from something that you probably have lying around the house, paper!<br />
I've pulled some paper flower tutorials from my Pinterest board:<br />
