aDiML: Fresh Blackberry Syrup & Crunchy French Toast

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. Life can get pretty crazy sometimes. :)
But I want to share some delicious recipes and fun moments with you. So, I know this blog gives off a glitzy, flashy vibe but I also love love love homemade farm fresh kind of things!

(totes a country gal!)

The other day my fiancee and I took a trip to our local botanical gardens where you could pick your own fresh blackberries right off the bush. It was so hot out, but we had a blast picking the perfect blackberries and dropping them into our buckets (and occasionally our mouths!)

Aren't they pretty? There were hundreds of berries. It was amazing. There's just something about picking food right off of the plant that is so satisfying.

When we were done, we had to figure out what to do with all our berries. (We picked A LOT.)
So, we hopped on Pinterest and found a recipe for Blackberry Syrup except that we didn't strain the fruit out, so it was more like a compote.

It also made a lot of syrup! Luckily we put them in jars to last longer and have a lot of family to give them to!
We then made Pioneer Woman's Crunchy French Toast to put the syrup on.

(I thought the wet ingredients looked very artistic before being stirred.)

They were sooo good and crunchy! You should definitely give this recipe a try.

Especially if you have fresh blackberry syrup!

Till next time,
~Victoria
